Shane FitzMaurice, also known as Shane the Pain, passed away this afternoon. Shane had ALS. He was a husband and a father of four. He was an instrumental member of the Treat Us Now Committee. He battled ALS with a courageously positive attitude. Back in December, he wrote a letter to his friends and family and asked that it be emailed when he passed and tonight, we received it. He has been released from his prison.
His motto was "FIGHT ON!" Tonight, a friend on the ALS Forum said, "ALS may have taken some things, but it didn't take your sense of humor...". He was a wonderful man who was adored by everyone. Please keep his family in your thoughts.
